Abstract
L’auteure aborde le lien social sous l’angle du développement des compétences humaines d’autonomie, de coopération sociale et de participation publique. Elle situe d’abord ces compétences dans le contexte duProgramme de formation de l’école québécoise(MEQ, 2001, 2003). Elle présente les parents, voire la famille, comme maîtres d’oeuvre dans la socialisation des jeunes vers l’exercice de la vie en société et d’une citoyenneté responsable. Ses réflexions s’appuient sur deux modèles théoriques, en l’occurrence le modèle contextuel du style parental (Darling et Steinberg, 1993) et le modèle du processus de la participation parentale (Hoover-Dempsey et Sandler, 1997). Ses réflexions sont enrichies des résultats de ses recherches portant entre autres, sur la socialisation à l’autonomie et la réussite scolaire. Elles sont aussi entrecroisées par des réflexions provenant d’une démarche auto-observée et provenant d’autres parents. L’auteure montre que les processus d’influence parentale tiennent la route, quel que soit le but visé par la socialisation.
