Abstract
Cet article s’intéresse à un aspect peu étudié jusqu’à maintenant de la Révolution tranquille : le mouvement d’émancipation des couples franco-québécois de la morale sexuelle catholique. L’étude de ce mouvement s’effectue par l’analyse de l’action du Centre de planification familiale du Québec (CPFQ). Cet organisme est au coeur de la lutte menée par des intervenants laïques en faveur du droit à la contraception pour tous. Par l’étude de son discours, de ses actions sociales et de ses initiatives auprès des gouvernements fédéral et provincial, nous cherchons à saisir le poids de ce Centre dans une société en pleine transformation, notamment dans son rapport à l’Église catholique. Cet article révèle que, malgré l’importante crise qu’elle traverse au cours des années 1960, l’Église conserve une grande influence sur cette question.
