The authors present the results of a power quality survey at the Stauffer Farms Ltd. site located in Eckville, Alberta. The statistical patterns of occurrence of power supply anomalies (e.g., voltage impulses, sags and surges, etc.) are presented and their significance in determining the possible origins of these power supply anomalies are discussed. The authors present a discussion of how these patterns form the basis for modeling research of complex rural electrical systems (e.g., a phase-neutral supply system coupled with a multiple grounded network whose impedances are frequency dependent).
