Abstract
La « crise » qui est au coeur de toute forme d’imaginaire de la fin ne peut connaître de résolution que violente, d’une violence cathartique qui permet de passer à un nouvel état et de retrouver un nouvel équilibre. Or, la violence mise en scène dans Lost Highway, de David Lynch, ne permet aucune libération, aucune résolution. L’imaginaire de la fin déployé dans ce film serait ainsi mis en déroute. Toute possibilité de transcendance en aurait été éliminée, et aurait été remplacée par un délire hallucinatoire et labyrinthique. Le film de Lynch propose en effet une crise permanente, enferrée dans des cycles autogénérés. La crise ne s’y résorbe jamais, elle est reconduite dans un mouvement perpétuel prenant la forme d’un ruban de Möbius, incarnée qu’elle est par un personnage étonnant et paradoxal qui porte les traits d’un Minotaure, d’un Minotaure intérieur.
