Abstract
À partir des recensements des 19 e et 20 e siècles, des équipes de chercheurs travaillent à la création de bases de données informatisées qui vont améliorer considérablement l’infrastructure canadienne de recherche en histoire et en sciences sociales, en démographie particulièrement. Cette note de recherche porte sur la préparation d’une bande-échantillon à grande diffusion du recensement canadien de 1891, en cours à l’Université de Guelph. Les chercheurs décrivent le projet, leur stratégie d’échantillonnage et le potentiel du nouvel outil de recherche.
