Abstract
Cinq lettres de la femme de lettres Éva Circé-Côté adressées à Marcel Dugas, à Paris, constituent des documents historiques révélateurs sur la relation entre les protagonistes, sur la pensée de Circé-Côté, sur ses lectures et sur ses réseaux sociaux pendant les années 1920. À l’égard de son collègue et ami, elle joue le rôle de mentore en lui prodiguant encouragements, conseils et remontrances. Il est aussi le confident à qui elle livre ses sentiments sur la religion, sur la mort de sa mère, sur le milieu intellectuel québécois. Les lettres de Circé-Côté ne contribuent pas seulement à son autoportrait, mais elles laissent voir aussi un portrait de Dugas, éclairant ainsi la biographie des deux personnages.
