Because allergic and immunologic processesoverlap all organ systems, allergy is not always taughtin medical schools as a separate subject. Indeed, lackof recognition of the specialty and of the need to teachabout allergic and immunologic diseases results inallergy not being included at all in some medical curric-ula.
