Abstract

Sont ici présentés les résultats d’une recherche réalisée auprès de 550 ayants droit des régions acadiennes de la Nouvelle-Écosse sur la question du positionnement à l’égard de la langue de scolarisation des enfants. Les résultats indiquent que, dans ce milieu linguistique minoritaire, l’appui à la scolarisation dans des écoles de langue française est associé positivement au développement d’un bilinguisme de type additif. Plus spécifiquement, il est associé au désir d’intégrer la communauté de langue française et à l’identité ethnolinguistique francophone. À leur tour, le désir d’intégration et l’identité francophone sont reliés à la force du vécu ethnolangagier francophone. En outre, la préférence pour la scolarisation en français est associée positivement au degré de scolarisation des ayants droit.
