Abstract
Alors que l’ordre humain et l’ordre animal ont longtemps été considérés comme distincts, les connaissances scientifiques et les pratiques sociales actuelles incitent à penser que la frontière entre ces deux ordres ne va plus de soi. Cependant, si l’interrogation sur l’interpénétration du naturel et du social n’est pas nouvelle, l’enjeu reste d’importance puisqu’il s’agit d’établir la part de l’un et de l’autre, et finalement la place de l’humain dans son propre univers. Nous analysons d’abord ces enjeux à travers le passage de rapports anthropocentriques à des relations aux animaux plus zoocentriques, tout en montrant comment cette nouvelle proximité est mise en péril par la prise de conscience de différents risques associant humains et animaux. La variabilité de la frontière est ensuite abordée dans la pluralité des rapports anthropozoologiques. Finalement, nous évoquons les questions actuellement soulevées dans différentes sphères de la société humaine autour de la place à accorder ou de la distance à maintenir avec les animaux.
