Abstract
El republicanismo espanol se doto, a lo largo del siglo XIX, de una mirada recurrente sobre los grandes acontecimientos del pasado tanto nacional como europeo. El proposito era sostener, con eficacia, las luchas de su tiempo. Romantica y positivista, nacional y popular, la historia construida por algunos de los principales dirigentes republicanos presentara rasgos compartidos, en el analisis del pasado y en el diagnostico de los males que afectaban a la patria, con el conjunto de la historiografia liberal previa a la consolidacion de los marcos academicos.
