Abstract
Sur l’Arc méditerranéen, le tourisme de masse, depuis les années 1960, a façonné des villes duelles (agriculture/tourisme, pêche/tourisme, quartier permanent/quartier saisonnier). Deux grands types de stations opposent des appendices récréatifs, greffés sur des noyaux villageois, à des « stations planifiées », crééesex nihilo. Dans le premier type, dominant sur le littoral méditerranéen espagnol, la centralité urbaine s’est déplacée de la cité prétouristique à la ville touristique en quarante ans de développement de l’activité distractive. L’éclosion de sociétés mobiles et multirésidentes, en Europe, depuis les années 1990, contribue à accélérer cette tendance, qui est à l’origine du fonctionnement d’importantes discontinuités spatiales, sociétales et culturelles entre les différentes composantes urbaines.
