Abstract
Le théâtre grec antique est connu dans le monde entier, ayant eu toujours un grand retentissement, alors que le théâtre néo-hellénique figure à peine dans les livres d’histoire du théâtre. La présente étude vise à examiner la présence du théâtre grec contemporain à l’étranger. Elle est fondée sur des recherches effectuées dans des pays anglophones, ainsi que sur des bibliographies de traductions en langues étrangères et une recherche spécifique menée par le Département d’Études Théâtrales à l’Université d’Athènes, comportant des traductions et des créations scéniques. La présence des auteurs grecs modernes à l’étranger est commentée et analysée sous différents aspects, du point de vue du temps, de l’espace, de la langue, ainsi que d’une vision globale. Sont examinées, à partir des théories de la réception, non seulement les causes du peu de retentissement qu’a eu le théâtre néo-hellénique mais encore ses perspectives réalisables.
