Abstract
En este artculo se presenta un panorama general de la historia de la traduccin en Hispanoamrica desde el momento de la conquista hasta nuestros das.Con tal propsito se han identificado cuatro perodos histricos de los cuales se dan a conocer los actores, los documentos y los acontecimientos que marcaron el quehacer traductivo de cada poca.El presente artculo, que slo pretende esbozar una historia an por escribir, es una invitacin al estudio del patrimonio traduccional de la regin, el cual es, sin lugar a dudas, mucho ms rico de lo que l se ha podido presentar.Palabras claves: historia de la traduccin, Hispanoamrica, traductores
