Abstract
A Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional (LSF) interpreta a língua como um sistema modelador de realidades. O presente estudo se insere na interface entre a Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional e os Estudos da Tradução, e analisa todas as falas em primeira pessoa do singular do personagem Ulysses Everett McGill na obra fílmica O Brother, Where Art Thou?/E Aí Meu Irmão, Cadê Você?. As falas em língua inglesa são analisadas como texto-fonte, e suas traduções nas legendas em português brasileiro como texto-alvo. A base teórica usada é o Sistema da Transitividade da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional. As unidades de análise foram estabelecidas mediante a ocorrência do item lexical I seguido por um processo em todo o texto-fonte, e do item lexical Eu seguido por um processo em todo o texto-alvo. Cada ocorrência foi tabulada junto de sua tradução, e depois analisada e tabulada enquanto processo.
