Abstract
Les trajectoires mensuelles des revenus licites et illicites de 195 délinquants ont été reconstituées pour les trois années qui ont précédé leur incarcération. Nous développons la thèse selon laquelle la classe sociale d’origine des délinquants majore les chances de succès de leurs activités illicites et module à la baisse la sévérité des tribunaux criminels à leur endroit. Les résultats de cette étude renouvellent la thématique de la stratification des opportunités criminelles et remettent en cause l’opinion commune, parmi les criminologues, selon laquelle la classe sociale n’influence pas les trajectoires de délinquance.
