Abstract
Cet article esquisse une réflexion sur le lien qui unit la théorie et l’oeuvre chez Xenakis. Il analyse trois exemples musicaux (tirés de Pithoprakta , Achorripsis et Herma ), sur lesquels Xenakis a rédigé des textes, afin de comprendre le sens que prennent certaines théories lors de la réalisation d’une oeuvre. Les nombreux écarts que l’on constate entre les modèles que propose le compositeur et leur application indique que sa musique n’est pas le champ d’application d’une science, mais que sa représentation numérique, ou graphique, tente d’abord d’élargir son champ de possibilités et de réflexion.
