[7341-00-6] C4H4N2OS2·2Na (MW 206.20) InChI = 1S/C4H4N2OS2.2Na.2H/c5-1-2(3(6)7)4(8)9;;;;/h2H,(H2,6,7)(H,8,9);;;; InChIKey = MTOASMVFAOOFRV-UHFFFAOYSA-N (dealkylating reagent used to deprotect the phosphodiester linkage during the chemical synthesis of oligonucleotides1) Alternate Names: propane (dithioic) acid sodium salt; 3-amino-2-cyano-3-oxo sodium salt; S2Na2. Solubility: highly soluble in water and methanol, slightly soluble in DMF, and insoluble in acetonitrile. Form Supplied in: yellow powder; manufactured by Dharmacon Inc. and other third-party companies. Preparative Method: the reagent is produced by reacting cyanoacetamide with sodium disulfide and aqueous sodium hydroxide, followed by recrystallization from EtOH.1, 2 Handling, Storage, and Precautions: store powder at ambient temperature in an anhydrous environment. Solutions should be stored at 4 °C in an anhydrous environment. S2Na2 is incompatible with bases, acids, and water. Toxic oxides of sulfur and carbon disulfide may evolve when heated to decomposition.
