Abstract
Bien que le système criticiste de Hermann Cohen soit opposé à toute métaphysique et toute ontologie et, en cela, diverge radicalement de la philosophie réaliste d’Ernst Bloch, il a tout de même joué un rôle considérable dans la formation de celle-ci. L’appropriation par le jeune Bloch de la pensée de Cohen s’est opérée par l’intermédiaire de la lecture ontologisante qu’en avait faite Oswald Weidenbach. Bloch doit à Cohen les thèmes de l’origine comme question et problème, de l’avenir comme dimension première du temps, et de l’Idée comme hypothèse et destination pratique de la connaissance.
