Physical Data: slightly yellow white solid; colorless crystals, mp 57 –60 °C, bp 80 °C/0.1 mmHg. Preparative Method: 1 see eq 1. (1) Form Supplied in: sold in 1–25 g amounts of crystalline solid from a wide range of suppliers. Purification: purify by vacuum sublimation at 80 °C. Handling, Storage, and Precautions: very moisture sensitive; decomposes immediately upon exposure to atmospheric moisture; handle and store under inert atmosphere away from sunlight; for long-term storage store at low temperature; causes burns to skin, eyes, and respiratory tract; may be harmful if swallowed or inhaled.
