Ce texte présente un modèle dynamique et interactif de construction de l'identité professionnelle de l'enseignant, faisant appel à des dimensions pyschologiques aussi bien que sociologiques. Ce modèle est sous-tendu par une définition de l'identitié professionnelle de l'enseignant et de ses diverses composantes auxquelles sont associées les qualités professionnelles requises de l'enseignant. Des entrevues semi-dirigées réalisées auprès de deux groupes d'enseignantes, le premier, composé d'enseignantes du primaire, le second, d'enseignantes ayant également une expérience d'enseignement en formation des maîtres, permettent d'illuster le caractère dynamique et interactif de la construction identitaire qui se manifeste par les processus de remise en question, de changement et de résolution de problèmes.
