Abstract
Issu d’un examen de synthèse réalisé dans le cadre d’un doctorat en service social, cet article propose de faire un tour d’horizon de la notion d’exclusion. En la situant d’abord par rapport aux concepts de pauvreté et d’inégalité sociale, l’auteure présente ensuite les différents angles d’analyse présents dans la littérature récente, principalement au Québec et en France, et effectue une synthèse des principaux modèles de compréhension qui ont été développés. Finalement, l’auteure met en relief quelques conséquences de l’exclusion sur le plan individuel et soulève en conclusion que l’action collective des personnes directement concernées peut constituer une voie privilégiée quant aux solutions à considérer.
