Abstract
Resume Les medicaments utilises dans l’hemorragie postpartum (HPP) sont l’ocytocine, la carbetocine, le maleate d’ergonovine et le carboprost tromethamine. L’utilisation du carboprost tromethamine chez une patiente asthmatique peut etre consideree dans le cas d’une HPP refractaire, surtout lorsque l’asthme est bien controle. Il faut toutefois etre attentif aux signes et symptomes de bronchospasme afin de le prevenir ou de le traiter rapidement le cas echeant. Les risques lies a une bronchoconstriction pouvant etre traitee sont dans bien des cas inferieurs aux risques lies a une HPP non traitee. Abstract Drugs used in the treatment of postpartum hemorrage (PPH) are ocytocine, carbetocine, ergonovine maleate and carboprost thrometamine. The use of carboprost thrometamine with asthma patients can be warranted in the case of refractory PPH especially when asthma is stabilized. However, a close attention must be paid to the appearance of signs and symptoms of bronchospasm in order to prevent or treat it effectively and accordingly. Risks related to treatable bronchoconstriction are lesser than the risks of non-treated PPH.
