Abstract
Cet article présente un bref état des lieux des évaluations existant actuellement sur le suicide en lien avec le travail chez les professionnels de l’agriculture en France. Sont ensuite examinées les difficultés posées par la caractérisation épidémiologique dans la perspective des démarches de prévention du risque suicidaire : différentes séries de « facteurs de risques » sont avancées par les études portant sur le travail agricole, soutenues par l’idée déterminismes causaux, sans une suffisante considération des déterminismes causaux qui peuvent être impliqués. On constate que ces enquêtes, indispensables, demeurent incomplètes, trop statiques et parfois contradictoires, et gagneraient à être complétées par des analyses plus circonstanciées en matière de processus de fragilisation et de déliaison.
