L’épidémiologie en santé mentale : le cadre conceptuel de l’enquête Santé-Québec

Abstract
Ce texte présente dans une première partie le cadre général des enquêtes épidémiologiques en santé mentale. Il en décrit les objets, les méthodes, les objectifs à travers quelques exemples historiques. La deuxième partie introduit à l'enquête Santé-Québec et discute, à titre d'illustration, de quelques-uns des résultats. On y décrit la réflexion qui a amené au choix des instruments, une description des différentes approches utilisées ainsi que les champs de la santé mentale qui sont couverts. La dernière partie contient une description de l'échantillon de la phase-pilote menée dans les territoires de Rimouski et de Verdun ainsi que les résultats obtenus à l'échelle de santé mentale négative en fonction des catégories suivantes: âge, sexe, revenu familial, statut marital et territoire de C.L.S.C. Les analyses sont faites pour les catégories à symptomatologie basse et élevée et elles démontrent que ce ne sont pas les mêmes tendances qui sont observées dans les deux distributions des résultats. La conclusion donne une idée du type d'analyses qui seront rendues possibles ultérieurement.
