Abstract
À partir d’une enquête qui combine des observations à des entretiens qualitatifs menés auprès de quelques shi‘ites libanaises vivant à Montréal, l’article tente de montrer l’existence d’une multiplicité dans les façons de se dire et de se vivre musulmane. Le rapport des migrantes à l’islam n’obéit pas à un seul modèle puisqu’elles ne suivent pas les prescriptions rituelles de façon uniforme. Par ailleurs, la forte religiosité observée chez plusieurs d’entre elles tout comme le sentiment généralisé d’appartenance à l’islam ne correspondent ni à un retour du religieux, ni à un « éveil » ou « repli identitaire », mais plutôt au maintien de l’identité religieuse.
