Abstract
A diversity scheme for a slow-frequency-hopped spread spectrum multiple-access communication system is proposed. Two receiver decoding schemes are studied. Several frequency bins are simultaneously used by a transmitter. Depending on the number of frequency bins available for hopping and the number of active transmitters, an optimal diversity degree exists which minimizes the symbol error probability.
