Abstract
Comme la majorité des adultes ont un niveau de compréhension très élevé des images, ils ont du mal à comprendre que l’interprétation des illustrations par des enfants ou adolescents peut poser des problèmes. Ces difficultés se sont manifestées à mesure que la recherche sur l’emploi des images dans l’enseignement a progressé. L’article qui suit passe en revue un certain nombre d’études qui ont voulu cerner les caractéristiques psycho-physiques de l’image. L’hypothèse de travail sous-jacente à cet ouvrage est que l’image pédagogique ne saurait être utilisée avec profit qu’à la condition de bien connaître les particularités qui s’y rattachent. C’est ce que nous tenterons de faire en analysant un certain nombre de paramètres importants pour une véritable compréhension de l’image.
