Cette étude porte sur les attitudes linguistiques envers l'enseignement et l'apprentissage du français cadien en Louisiane. Après avoir décrit sa méthodologie de recherche, l'autrice expose les résultats les plus significatifs au regard des perceptions des répondants (considérés selon l'âge, l'origine et le lieu de résidence) vis-à-vis de la qualité et du statut du français cadien ainsi que de l'enseignement et de l'apprentissage de différentes variétés de français (variété apprise à l'école, le français cadien, le français créole). Les résultats permettent de caractériser l'identité culturelle et linguistique cadienne et le degré de stabilité sociolinguistique du français cadien.
