Abstract
L’article propose une réflexion critique, épistémologique et technique fondée sur l’expérience du dispositif appelé « pléthysmographie pénienne » (mesure de l’érection chez les délinquants sexuels). La prise en compte de données empiriques ethnographiques et théoriques a conduit à l’interrogation du partage dichotomique entre « fantasme déviant » et « fantasme non déviant », au fondement dispositif examiné ; un tel clivage s’avère ruineux pour la pensée scientifique et celle du sujet subissant les mesures psychométriques. Ce partage sera mis en regard d’autres conceptions du fantasme susceptibles d’en révéler la teneur et la portée. Enfin, la rhétorique du stimulus neutre – clé de voûte du dispositif – est passée au crible pour en reconsidérer la validité.
