Abstract
Le double est un motif récurrent dans la dramaturgie québécoise des quarante dernières années. Il apparaît de différentes façons : la démultiplication des lieux, des personnages et des intrigues, la choralité, le dédoublement d’un personnage ou d’une situation, la gémellité, le théâtre dans le théâtre, l’hybridité des genres théâtraux et romanesques. Il est présent à tous les niveaux de lecture, qu’il s’agisse du fond ou de la forme. Je propose de discuter et d’analyser ce postulat en m’appuyant surede Daniel Danis. Cette pièce reprend ce motif tout en le renouvelant de manière originale et singulière. Pour étayer mon analyse, je m’appuierai sur l’étude de la structure de la pièce, l’entrelacement générique, et interrogerai en particulier le personnage de J’il.
