Abstract
Cet article rapporte les résultats émanant de deux sondages effectués àl’automne 1984 auprès de directeurs de départements et de professeurs d’institutionsuniversitaires du Québec. Il vise à cerner les orientations stratégiques de cesacteurs dans la période de contraintes budgétaires que le Québec connaissait alorset à déterminer les écarts entre leurs opinions selon la langue de l’institutionuniversitaire à laquelle ils appartenaient. L’échantillon comprend 191 directeurs dedépartement et 1225 professeurs de l’ensemble du réseau universitaire du Québec.Même si plusieurs résultats confirment des tendances repérables dans l’enseignementuniversitaire, certaines orientations stratégiques ouvrent la voie à uneredéfinition de la mission de l’Université québécoise.
