Abstract
À partir des « manifestations du lundi », des rassemblements organisés par les Églises protestantes dans les années 1980, l’auteure propose de réévaluer le rôle des Églises est-allemandes quinze ans après l’unification politique du pays. Jadis médium des mouvements de protestation qui ont culminé en 1989-1990 par la chute du mur de Berlin et symboles de l’opposition au régime, les manifestations du lundi ont connu un regain de popularité inattendu dans la foulée des protestations contre les réformes de l’État social allemand en 2004. La réappropriation de ce symbole et, par extension, de la mémoire de 1989 par des acteurs issus de différents courants politiques a été vivement contestée. On a accusé les défenseurs des manifestations d’être « nostalgiques »... mais nostalgiques de quoi ?
