On the Maximal Monotonicity of the Sum of a Maximal Monotone Linear Relation and the Subdifferential Operator of a Sublinear Function
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The most important open problem in Monotone Operator Theory concerns the maximal monotonicity of the sum of two maximal monotone operators provided that Rockafellar’s constraint qualification holds. In this note, we provide a new maximal monotonicity result for the sum of a maximal monotone linear relation and the subdifferential operator of a proper, lower semicontinuous, sublinear function. The proof relies on Rockafellar’s formula for the Fenchel conjugate of the sum as well as some results on the Fitzpatrick function.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
