Abstract
À partir d’échantillons de parole spontanée d’espagnol du Vénézuéla, l’auteur étudie plusieurs facteurs prosodiques chez les hommes et les femmes de trois groupes sociaux. Les résultats montrent que les différences prosodiques les plus significatives sont sociales et non sexuelles. Le groupe le plus favorisé des hommes comme des femmes module davantage ses éconcés. Les énoncés sémantiquement terminaux tendent à être de pente mélodique montante pour le groupe le plus favorisé. Cette même pente se retrouve pour le groupe défavorisé mais il s’y ajoute une particule de nature interrogative ou phatique. Les groupes non terminaux n’ont pas de pente significative. Quant au débit, on remarque que ce sont les groupes masculins qui prononcent le plus grand nombre de syllabe à la seconde.
