Abstract
L'adaptation d'un roman pour le cinéma n'est jamais chose facile. Et que dire du roman féministe dont les structures narratives se voient souvent investies d'un message subversif, inscrit à même la narration, ou la non-narration de la protagoniste ? La difficulté provient-elle du médium filmique et de ses limites, ou du discours dominant dont il est entaché et qui a tendance à faire de la femme un objet de la narration au masculin ? Les analyses de Laura Laurde Suzanne Jacob et de son adaptation au cinéma par Brigitte Sauriol, ainsi que celles du roman The Handmaid's Tale deMargaret Atwood et du film de Volker Schlôndorff devraient nous permettre de vérifier l'hypothèse voulant que Laura Laur et Offred, femmes exceptionnelles de ces romans, aient été diminuées lors de leur passage du côté du grand écran.
