This paper reports on a deterministic model developed using TD-BEM (time-domain boundary element method) rather than ray tracing techniques to predict the performance of high speed wireless data networks. Knowing the complete specifications of the structure environment (room size and shape, wall and furnishings materials) the model discussed can then predict the impulse responses, the multipath spread and the frequency selective characteristics of wireless indoor channels. Application examples are given for a 37.2 GHz wireless system operating in two different environments. The numerical technique is used with good success to compare the measurements with results of simulation for a sample of transmitter-receiver localizations.
