Abstract

En s’appuyant sur une enquête réalisée en1996-1997auprès de35couples vivant en union de fait ou mariés, l’article aborde le phénomène de la construction du couple dans une société où celui-ci se fonde sur les individus, leurs sentiments et leurs projets. Les entrevues, réalisées simultanément auprès de l’homme et de la femme, font voir que la communication établie entre eux mais aussi l’histoire élaborée sur leur couple, la mémoire des débuts et divers rituels pour célébrer le lien amoureux et en marquer les transitions contribuent à la construction du lien et posent certains étayages pour élaborer une cellule sociale distincte dotée d’une histoire et d’un projet intégrateur de deux itinéraires et d’une double appartenance.
