Abstract
Measurement results of the temperature dependence of magnetic field resolution are presented for the nanotesla-magnetotransistor (NMT). Over a bandwidth of 1 kHz, the temperature coefficient of resolution turns out to be +0.82%/ degrees C over a temperature range of 0 degrees C<or=T<or=100 degrees C. At room temperature, the resolution of the given bandwidth is 700 nT. The high resolution of the NMT is due to the strong positive coherence in the collector noise currents. The coherence is high only when the device is operated in the medium injection regime. Its behavior is somewhat analogous to the forward current gain of the device; the coherence degrades at very low and very high injection levels. The coherence is found to be independent of operating temperature for the above range.<<ETX>>
