Abstract
Los Angeles est une ville majeure dans la géographie mondiale de la dispersion arménienne. Composée de membres issus d’origines nationales diverses, la communauté qui habite Los Angeles est plurielle et s’organise en multiples foyers urbains. Au sein de cette mosaïque spatiale et identitaire existe une tension entre une structure fragmentée et a-centrée et une volonté, notamment des élites, de créer un espace-vitrine. Entre l’un et le multiple, la centralité et la fragmentation, la collectivité arménienne est marquée par des enjeux de pouvoir, qui s’expriment spatialement. Le cas de Little Armenia, dont la désignation fait référence à un centre, sera étudié pour montrer à la fois ses attributs de centre et de périphérie. L’ambivalence de cet espace traduit celle qui existe au coeur de la collectivité arménienne, caractérisée par une histoire migratoire complexe.
