Abstract
Cet article analyse les stratégies de survie et les formes de luttes pour la reconnaissance menées par les habitants de Cité Lajoie, un bidonville situé en bordure du quai de Port-au-Prince. Fruit d’un travail de terrain réalisé dans la Cité au début de 2007, il remet en question certaines théories relatives à la capacité des populations marginalisées de réaliser des actions collectives ainsi que d’avoir une subjectivité collective et des intérêts communs, et ce, à la lumière des actions entreprises par les résidents de Cité Lajoie.
