This paper provides an overview of different types of ring geometries that have been investigated recently in communications research centre Canada as the building block of wideband reflectarray elements. The superior performance of these reflectarrays in terms of operating bandwidth was demonstrated experimentally. Techniques for the design of wideband reflectarray with ring type elements will be presented.
