À la lumière d’une recherche menée dans la région des Laurentides, nous examinerons comment la transformation des modes d’intégration institutionnelle peut influer sur l’élaboration de projets d’intégration des services de santé et sur la rationalisation des services administratifs et de soutien. L’adoption d’ententes de partenariat favorise la mise en oeuvre de ces projets. Inversement, l’imposition de la fusion ou du regroupement d’établissements peut soulever une vague d’opposition qui nuit à la mise en place de réseaux intégrés de services. Ces résultats doivent toutefois être interprétés en tenant compte de facteurs contextuels propres à l’époque et à la région.
