Abstract
La date exacte de la disparition de la langue huronne est incertaine. De manière générale, les historiens estiment qu’elle a disparu au tournant du xxe siècle, mais il semble que ce soit plutôt au milieu du xixe siècle. En effet, les sources et les témoignages historiques dont nous disposons semblent indiquer que la langue huronne est tombée en désuétude entre 1829 et 1849. Il n’existe d’ailleurs aucune preuve historique permettant de croire que la langue huronne était parlée (ou même connue) par les aînés de Wendake au tournant du xxe siècle.
