Abstract Information display occurs when people receive information from human‐influenced light. The information may be literal or symbolic and static or dynamic, and whilethe same basic photometric principles apply for each of the four combinations, they are often viewed differently. Such categorization highlights important opportunities, and a need for further research, especially in cases that lie at the interstices of these natural categories.
