Abstract
L'auteur propose une illustration de la pertinence du concept d'empowerment dans le contexte des pratiques sociales. Après un bref rappel historique, il présente les assises théoriques qui justifient le développement d'une nouvelle pratique fondée sur l'empowerment des personnes et des groupes. Selon l'auteur, une telle pratique nécessite l'adhésion à un ensemble de valeurs qui sont présentées sous la forme de cinq grands postulats. Une grille d'analyse est également proposée pour faciliter l'examen des pratiques quotidiennes dans Ia perspective d'une démarche d'empowerment. Après avoir souligné les limites de cette pratique, l'auteur conclut en espérant que le développement futur de cette perspective permettra d'en évaluer tout le potentiel.
