Abstract
Gaston Miron et Paul Chamberland ont tous deux affirmé avoir été influencés par la poésie d’Aimé Césaire, dont l’impact du célèbre Cahier d’un retour au pays natal dans le milieu littéraire québécois des années 60 a créé un petit mouvement de « négritude blanche ». De manière intéressante, et sans doute paradoxale, ce sont pourtant les différences qui ressortent de cette influence, comme si Césaire avait représenté un idéal poétique et de libération impossible à atteindre au Québec. Cet article offre d’abord un survol du contexte littéraire qui a permis la réception favorable des écrits de Césaire, figure d’altérité positive pour plusieurs poètes québécois, avant de proposer une lecture parallèle du Cahier et des poèmes de Miron et de Chamberland.
