Abstract
Le but de cet essai critique est de faire la démonstration que le travail du sexe des femmes est traversé par des enjeux grandement diversifiés qui ont un impact sur les représentations sociales véhiculées à l’égard des femmes. Il adopte une perspective d’analyse constructiviste-foucaldienne afin d’illustrer l’institutionnalisation des normes sur la sexualité des femmes. Le texte démontre comment la prostitution féminine constitue une construction sociale. Puis il illustre le débat politique qui entoure la question et au sein duquel différents courants de pensées féministes et modèles de régulation ont émergé. Finalement, il aborde la prostitution des femmes en tant qu’objet d’intervention en travail social.
