Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Abstract ‘Codiolum’ and ‘chlorochytrium’ (both unicellular sporophyte phases of the filamentous green alga Acrosiphonia) are endophytic in the red algal crust ‘petrocelis’ (sporophyte of Mastocarpus papillatus) and in the bladed red alga Mazzaella splendens, respectively, in southern British Columbia, Canada. This study is the first to investigate experimentally the synchrony of host and endophyte seasonal abundance for any host–endophyte system. A correlation study of time series data on abundance indicated that in 1997 and 1998 seasonal synchrony occurred for both host–endophyte associations; this was predicted for interactions where the host is highly seasonal and the host–endophyte relationship is highly specific. We suggest that Acrosiphonia's sporophyte phase may have evolved to synchronize colonization with increasing host abundance, and synchronize reproductive phenology and host exit (as zoospores) with decreasing host abundance.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
