Abstract
Les peuples autochtones qui vivent au Québec, Canada, cherchent à faire reconnaître leurs droits les plus fondamentaux, ancestraux existants, territoriaux, économiques et sociaux et ce, en conformité avec le mouvement international en faveur de ces peuples, tel qu'il s'est manifesté au cours des 20 dernières années dans le cadre de l'Organisation des Nations Unies. Le présent article analyse cette question fondamentale en dressant le bilan des efforts des peuples autochtones vivant au Québec déployés sur ce plan et en esquissant les conditions qui leur permettront de survivre, telles qu'elles ont été définies dans le cadre du Sommet de la Terre qui s'est tenu à Rio de Janeiro, Brésil, en juin 1992.
