Cet article analyse la relation entre la participation parentale et le rendement scolaire d'enfants de deuxième année du primaire. L'échantillon compte 80 familles et regroupe 47 filles et 33 garçons. Effectuée au moyen de tests standardisés, la collecte des données cible les habiletés intellectuelles, le rendement scolaire, la participation des parents à la vie scolaire (attentes, attributions quant au rendement, fréquence et qualité des contacts avec l'école, durée des devoirs, comportement de l'enfant et des parents pendant les devoirs). Les résultats montrent, entre autres, qu'au-delà des caractéristiques individuelles et familiales, les facteurs de prédiction de la réussite scolaire des enfants différent pour les mères et les pères, et que c'est surtout la qualité des contacts famille-école qui est associée au rendement scolaire des enfants.
